We have not stopped talking about your Easter Workshop, I felt I had found what I'd been looking for, for the past few years & could never find. You did a brilliant job & gave so much of yourself, you must have been tired at the end of it.

I really enjoyed the weekend art workshop. The very next day I went out to the art shop and bought some supplies...eg gesso, clay, brushes, and lots of other goodies. In general it has stimulated me to put some more focus into expressing myself through this visual and tactile medium thanks to your wonderful and generous tuition. The demonstrations of each technique was like exploring a never ending bag of treasures each one getting better and better. During this process I felt some long held blocks about my "lack of ability" and my inner nagging negative critic.....slowly shrivelled and slunk away. In its place came an acceptance that hey.. it's totally OK to be a beginner and just watch and enjoy the process. My inner eye started to see beyond the paint and gesso and started to see abstract swirls and curls of colour and tiny little symbols started to appear, which had meaning for me. My painting started to tell a neat little story and guess what?..... I could interpret it because I didn't have this mass blockage between me and the painting anymore. So yes I felt liberated... free... to be able to like what I did... instead of being on autopilot.... that only had YUK programmed into it. I didn't hear myself say Gee you're Yuk at this Gabbi..... what kind of fool do you think you are coming down here "painting".
